Cures for the common cold

Out of 200 different strains of cold, the nose virus is the most common. You can easily catch one strain right after the other.

How far can a sneeze travel?  200 FEET!!! (According to MIT research this is due to a previously undetected gas bubble known as a “multiphase turbulent buoyant bubble”.) Coughers and sneezers cover your mouth with the crook of your elbow and turn your head away from others!!!!!! If you are sick stay home and don’t get your co workers sick.

I have been paying attention very closely to people I have been around for the last 2 months in the winter season. When people have a cold they cover their mouth only occasionally when they cough or sneeze. When people talk and you are close by it is very common to feel tiny particles of droplets on your face.Wear a mask if you have to be around sick people. Otherwise you could get sick and take it home to your family.

If somebody has a cold around you  or you have a cold why not use a face mask? The Japanese do. When I lived there if anybody had a cold or the flu they wore a face mask-… all day!!! How awesome, considerate, non disease spreading is that?!!!

  • Does echinacea work for the common cold? YES.

CONCLUSIONS:Early intervention with a standardized formulation of echinacea resulted in reduced symptom severity in subjects with naturally acquired upper respiratory tract infection. Further studies with larger patient populations appear to be warranted.J Clin Pharm Ther. 2004 Feb;29(1):75-83.Efficacy of a standardized echinacea preparation (Echinilin) for the treatment of the common cold: a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial. Goel V1,et al.

Throw your toothbrush away after use until your cold is gone. It is possible to reinfect yourself with strep possibly.

Wash and rinse your hands a lot with warm water and regular soap. Antibacterial soap gets rid of bacteria we know about and can bring about bacteria that are more difficult to kill and get rid of.

Stay hydrated. Your urine should be fairly clear to know if you are hydrated enough.

Neti pot with distilled water and solution that is sold with it. There are mixed reviews for the efficacy of a Neti pot. It works to help my cold duration to be less.
